Konečně známe přehled nominovaných k letošním cenám Emmy. V loňském roce poprvé překonal streamovací gigant Netflix v počtu nominací stanici HBO (112 ku 108). Letos mu to ovšem HBO vrací v plné parádě, neboť má ve hře celkem 132 nominací, což je nejvíce v historii cen Emmy pro jeden subjekt. Netflix vybojoval 117 nominací a přepsal loňský rekord v počtu nominací pro streamovací službu.
V počtu nominací kraluje finální osmá řada Hry o trůny se 32 nominacemi. Velkou radost mají jistě Kit Harrington a Emilia Clarke, kteří si zapsali svou vůbec první nominaci na cenu Emmy za hlavní výkon v dramatické sérii. Dále v počtu nominací pro jednotlivé seriály vévodí Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (20 nominací), Černobyl s 19, Saturday Night Live (18), Barry (17), Fosse/Verdon (17) a minisérie When They See Us (16).
Předávání 71. cen Emmy se uskuteční 22. 9. na stanici FOX a zatím není jasné, kdo ceremoniál bude uvádět. Technické kategorie, jako kamera, výprava, kostýmy atd. se budou předávat v rámci cen Emmy Creative Arts Awards ve dnech 14. a 15. 9.
